Terms of service

The agreement

By installing Madrid or creating an account, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app. The service is provided by Leonardo Lemos.

Your account

You need an account to use Madrid, and you are responsible for keeping access to it secure. Tell us promptly if you think someone else is using it. You must be old enough to enter a contract where you live.

Subscriptions and payment

Madrid is a paid app with no free tier. You subscribe from Settings inside the app. Subscriptions renew for the period you chose until you cancel, at the price shown at checkout in your currency, plus any tax that applies where you live.

Cancel at any time from your billing settings; access continues to the end of the period you have paid for. Refunds are covered by our refund policy. If a payment fails, paid features may pause until it is settled. We may change prices for future periods, and will tell you before a change affects you.

Your content

Your notes are yours. You keep every right you had in them. You give us only the permission we need to run the service for you: to store your notes, sync them to your devices, and pass parts of them to the processors listed in the privacy policy when you use a feature that requires it.

Acceptable use

Do not use Madrid to break the law, to store or distribute material you have no right to, or to attack the service or the people using it. Do not attempt to access another person's vault. We may suspend an account that does these things.

Availability

We work to keep the service running, but we do not promise it will never be unavailable. Features may change as the app develops. Because Madrid keeps a local copy of your notes on your Mac, an outage should not stop you writing.

Liability

The service is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, and our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law, including your statutory rights as a consumer.

Ending it

You can stop using Madrid and delete your account at any time. We may end this agreement if you break these terms, or if we stop offering the service, in which case we will give you reasonable notice and time to export your notes.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and disputes are subject to the courts there. If you are a consumer elsewhere, you keep the protections of your local law.
